A fifteen-minute meeting with Professor Rosenberg — one student, one focused conversation.

A figure in a blue shirt stands barefoot in the surf, holding a bouquet of red roses behind their back and framed by a freestanding white door as petals scatter into the sky.
Fig. — A meeting kept.

Use the online booking system below to schedule a fifteen-minute meeting with Professor Rosenberg. Please review the policies and procedures that follow so that every student who wishes to meet has the opportunity.

Meetings are held in Microsoft Teams. Confirm that Teams is installed on your computer, that it is up to date, and that your microphone, webcam, and speakers are in working order well before your meeting. The Teams meeting link will arrive in your confirmation email.

Note. The booking system is for scheduling only. To send a message to the professor, use the email address printed on your course syllabus.

Read carefully

Appointment Policies & Procedures. Please read the following information carefully to ensure that your appointment goes smoothly and so that everyone who wishes to meet with the professor has the opportunity. Any violation of these Policies & Procedures will result in the loss of appointment privileges for the remainder of the semester. We are strict about this because the professor's time is valuable, and because students who miss appointments interfere with the progress of others.

§ 01

Appointment Policies

The following ten policies govern every appointment. Read them once; keep the ones that apply to your situation in mind.

  1. Appointments are fifteen minutes long.
  2. Missing an appointment, arriving late, or arriving unprepared is prohibited. You must arrive prepared and on time.
  3. All appointment cancellations and modifications must be made through this system — see the confirmation emails for details. Such requests will not be honored by contacting Professor Rosenberg directly.
  4. Cancellations and rescheduling are permitted up to twenty-four hours before the appointment, after which you are obligated.
  5. Email issues — including failure to receive confirmation emails — do not provide absolution from these policies. Provide the correct email address on the booking form.
  6. Only currently enrolled students may use this online booking system. All others must contact the professor.
  7. A working webcam and microphone are required for the duration of your meeting.
  8. We cannot afford you extra time because of faulty equipment. Run a test meeting well beforehand.
  9. You may have only one open appointment at a time. Double-bookings are not permitted.
  10. Technical issues of any kind — even those that are not your fault — are not valid excuses for violations of this policy.

* Loss of appointment privileges applies for the remainder of the semester in which the violation occurs.

§ 02

Appointment Procedures

The mechanics of the meeting itself — where confirmations come from, what to upload, how the lobby works.

  1. Email communications about your appointment will arrive from Office Hours <OfficeHourswithProfessorLouisMRosenbergPhD@lourosenberg.org>. If they are not appearing in your inbox, check your spam folder.
  2. All appointments are held in Microsoft Teams.
  3. Using a smartphone or tablet to attend your meeting is not recommended, as we may use the advanced capabilities of the Teams desktop application. That said, no technology is expressly prohibited.
  4. If you intend to review an essay, be sure to upload it before your appointment.
  5. Essays should be in document format — .doc, .docx, Google Docs, and the like.
  6. All other assignments should be in PDF format. If you are reviewing hardcopy, scan it as a PDF and upload it.
  7. When you first arrive, you will be placed in the Teams lobby until admitted, or asked to wait until the host starts the meeting. In either case, waiting does not qualify as attending. If you leave before you are admitted — even if the professor is late — you will be considered a no-show.
